The Resident Evil franchise is a very popular series, originating from the game itself in 1996, the developer Capcom Co. Ltd has made huge success in garnering fans and even a live-action movie version of the game scared the screens with a film of the same name, Resident Evil starring Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez. The title success has allowed them to produce 6 films in total.

For the benefit of those who don’t know the series, (seriously what have you been doing all your life?) not to worry, here’s a little brief understanding what the series is all about. ZOMBIES. Yes, zombies. The video game was the brainchild of Capcom and the first spark that created all this craziness. Throughout the series of the games as well as the movies, the constant antagonist that the heroes and players have to face is the Umbrella Corporation, a fictitious biomedical company that created the T-Virus which is responsible for mutating human beings into cannibalistic zombies.

Well everyone, the iconic logo is back and I’m not talking about the latest animated film Biohazard: Vendetta. The Umbrella Corp is now a real company, disguised as a Vietnamese skincare centre. The issue has been addressed by the netizens and have felt humorous that the skincare centre has ironically used the logo of the evil and fictitious logo.

The Vietnamese skincare centre has already released a statement on their Facebook page (read it here: https://goo.gl/aGLDP3) They have apologised to the fact of the blunder that was caused with the usage of the logo and that they had no idea that the logo was from the fictional Umbrella Corp. further stating that there was no intention of infringing the copyrights of the movie and game, they also explained that they were specialised in skin care and not design, thus employing a third-party design company in making their logo. Investigations are underway.
Another step they took on their behalf was to take down their logo from their social media platform which was in their power to do however the website still contains the umbrella logo. Understandably enough, that their website still needs to be functionable for business purposes.
