Linkin Park? Linkin Pop?

As a teen in the early 2000’s, one of the bands I’ve often listened to was Linkin Park. I remember how much Chester’s loud screams spoke words to my heart as they resonated all that teen angst back then. Recently a single titled ‘Heavy’ was released from Linkin Park in February, soon after in May they have released their newest album One More Light.

In March, the channel FBE released a ‘Teens React’ video to Linkin Park, many didn’t like what the band became stating that it feels like a sellout for the long time fans that they have had over the years. One of the reacting teens stated that music is something that needs to be changed up over time. The music scene is evolving and it is important for people to move along with the change to stay relevant.

Which in this case, it’s true. As time passes, things evolve, we grew from listening to cave beats to the mainstream music we hear today. Regarding their themes too, as their teen angst themes moved on to more uplifting qualities, their lead singer Chester Bennington tweeted their reasons. (Twitter)” Someone asked why I don’t sing scream about teen angst anymore?….. I said ” because I’m 41″.

This speaks a lot about the marketing style of the current marketing medium these days.
